Open to all students.</p> Sat, 15 Nov 2008 06:08:30 GMT http://programs.stat.ucla.edu/announcements/2008/11/15/stats-186-careers-in-statistics/ http://programs.stat.ucla.edu/announcements/2008/11/15/stats-186-careers-in-statistics/ New Major/Minor Requirements (Effective Fall 07) <strong>New Requirements For</strong> <h2>Statistics Major/Minor</h2> <p>Effective Fall 2007</p> <p>Changes To The Major</p> <ul> <li>The number of required courses will increase from 12 to 15. </li> <li>A required core in computational statistics will be added. </li> <li>Stats 130B will no longer be required </li> <li>Math 172A and B (Actuarial Mathematics) will be official electives </li> <li>A new course in experimental design will be added</li> </ul> <p>Changes To The Minor*</p> <ul> <li>Stats 10-15 will be a course required to enter the minor. </li> <li>There will be three pathways through the minor: <ul> <li>Take any two of these three sequences: 100ABC, 101ABC, 102ABC and electives. </li> <li>Take any two courses from all three of the above sequences and electives. </li> <li>Take Stats 110A, any two courses from any two of the above sequences and electives.</li> </ul></li> </ul> <p>These pathways are designed to allow students from a variety of majors to have the necessary course requisites to get a Statistics minor.
